Live tournaments on the Isle of Man

There is an amendament to be made on the Acts of Gaming Betting, Lottery and Casino by the Department of Economic Development of Isle of Man.

It aims for hosting tournaments of live games on the island.

As per statement of John Simmin MHK, there are various opportunities to host live tournaments on the island, along with the rest of benefits that this will draw.

These include enhanced bed nights, local economy spending and lots of passengers coming to the island by aircraft.

The present gambling regulations on the island, impose that live tournaments will be held in select venues only.

However, tha changes made to the gambling law will facilitate the issue of a wide range of gaming venues, by GSC, where organizers can hold live tournaments.

A process has been started in this point, by releasing a document of consultation.
